What is Traimerdia?
Traimerdia is the government programme for after-school care on Aruba, run through Departamento di Enseñansa: a fixed place after school with supervision, often with homework, a snack and play.
Private locations also offer after-school care: in Dutch also called BSO, in English after-school care. Always ask who runs the care and which rules apply to that location.
It’s different from a creche: Traimerdia is mainly for school-age children, not babies.

Is Traimerdia the same as BSO?
Not exactly. Traimerdia is the government programme for after-school care; BSO is the general term, also used for private after-school care. Ask each location who runs the care.
From what age?
Usually primary-school age. Some sites mix ages — ask how groups are organized.
What if my child has no homework?
Good programs also offer play, outdoor time and rest. Homework is one part, not the only one.
Can I see if my child arrived?
That differs per location. If the daycare uses a parent app such as Crece Cumi, the team checks children in and out per group and parents see their child’s day in the app. Ask about it at the intake.
